Our aim is to build on the foundations set in Foundation
Stage One. The teachers create a prepared environment to engage the
children in their own development and learning, encouraging discovery and innovation.
Planning is adapted to meet the individual needs of every
child, nurturing a love of learning and a thorough understanding of the basic
skills needed to be successful when they move on to Year 1.
Our curriculum has three prime areas; Physical Development,
Communication and Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
These areas provide the children with the fundamental skills they need to
develop knowledge and understanding in the four ‘Specific Areas of Learning’;
Literacy, Mathematics, Art and Design and Understanding the World. We encourage
the children to actively participate in their own learning, playing and
exploring, creating and thinking critically.
